2. Purpose of the Program
The main purpose of the program is to educate science teachers as having advanced knowledge in their areas, to develop their critical thinking skills, to make them follow the scientific developments, to give importance to inquiry and scientific research, to apply their theoretical knowledge into the daily life and to develop the scientific perspective regarding the phenomena that they encounter in daily life.

Science Education Program
7. Purpose of the Program
Laboratory-supported and practice based education is provided to educate science teachers in the undergraduate program. Prospective teachers will be able to understand the importance of science and technology in daily life, follow the recent developments in science, and have necessary knowledge related to science teaching methods. Students take courses in the fields of physics, chemistry, biology and related disciplines and also take courses related to how to teach science for elementary level.
The duration of the program is four years and the education language is Turkish. Students must obtain a grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and successfully pass all courses on the program (equivalent to a total of 240 ECTS).

9. Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples
Graduates are employed as science teacher or administrators for the private or public elementary schools. They have the opportunity to apply graduate programs.
