Purpose of the Program

Primary Teaching Undergraduate Program is one of the first programs opened by Ege University Faculty of Education,which was established in 1998. The program began accepting  undergraduate students in 1999 and gave its first graduates in 2003. In 2002, the Primary Teaching Master's Program with Thesis was opened and graduate education started to be given.

The education period consists of 4 years and 8 semesters. Within the scope of the program, General Culture, Teaching Profession Knowledge, Field Knowledge courses are given in well-equipped environments such as science laboratories, computer laboratories, material, music, and drama rooms within the Faculty.

Graduates who successfully complete the program receive a "Bachelor's Degree in Primary Teaching". Graduates of the Primary Teaching Undergraduate Program work as 'primary teachers' in public and private primary schools affiliatedwiths the Ministry of National Education. In addition, graduates who receive postgraduate education in this field can work as academicians in the relevant units of universities.

Students are admitted to the Primary Teaching Undergraduate Program according to the EA score type, which is one of the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) score types. According to the 2023 YKS results, the Ege University Faculty of Education Primary Teaching Undergraduate Program base score is 393,451. The student quota of the Primary Teaching Undergraduate Program is 60 students.
The Primary Teaching Undergraduate Program was accredited by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Teacher Education Programs (EPDAD).
The Primary Teaching Undergraduate Program has been awarded the "Barrier-Free Program Award" by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) within the framework of the arrangements it has made for the hearing-impaired students who continue their education. This program medal is one of the three program orders given to Ege University by YÖK in June 2023.
