The Department of Curriculum and Instruction aims to train program development specialists, academicians, teachers and teacher educators who can carry out the processes of designing, implementing, evaluating and developing an educational program, act in accordance with professional ethical principles and examine educational problems based on the scientific method. The main function of the department is to carry out postgraduate education programs for this purpose. In this context, the faculty members in the department contribute to educational policies and program studies with their national / international projects and publications. They also support teacher education by giving courses in the field of education programs and instruction in pre-service teacher education.
The maximum duration of the department's postgraduate programs varies between one and eight years depending on the degree. Although it varies according to the programs, certain criteria are taken into account in student admission for the Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES) score, foreign language score and previous education level graduation grade point average. While the exams for thesis master's and doctoral programs are conducted in the form of written exams and interviews, only interviews are held for the non-thesis master's program. Students who continue their postgraduate programs in the department have the opportunity to gain experience in universities abroad with which Ege University has agreements through ERASMUS. Graduates of postgraduate programs can work as program development specialists, education specialists, academic coordinators, etc. in various institutions and organizations (banks, military schools, private schools, some public institutions, etc.); and they can teach in private and public educational institutions. They can also work as academicians in state and private universities or as program development specialists in human resources management and professional development units in different sectors.mektedirler.
